Synopsis:

Well ths post goes hand and hand with our previous Truck Tech "What does 1/2 Ton, 3/4 Ton, &1 Ton really mean?  Starting 1960, Chevrolet and GMC Fullsize Trucks were coded either "C" followed by a number or "K" followed by a number.  The "C" stood for two wheel drive modeles while the "K" was for four wheel drive models.  The numbers folowing referred to the chassis size.  For Chevy models 10 represented 1/2 Ton Trucks, 20 was for 3/4 Ton and 30 stood for 1 Ton Trucks.  The GMC Trucks used the codes 1500, 2500, and 3500 series to indicate chassis size.
